Description Don Lipari 2017-01-04 08:57:27 MST
I'm filing this as a peremptory effort in the event the bug currently exists in the current sacctmgr. We discovered the bug in our ancient sacctmgr and would want it fixed if it still exists.

A coordinator took a file of user names which were originally imported for a text file created on a Windows box. Unbeknownst to her, a control-M character was appended to the end of each name at the end of each line. sacctmgr happily took it and this caused problems for each of the 422 user names that the database created for her.

Hey Don -

I'm marking this as a duplicate of bug 2265, which is discussing a potential set of enhancements to sanitize strip ^M and other control characters from user-provided strings. I don't have a target release for that work yet though.
